Hamilton was founded in 1892 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, and supplied railroad-grade pocket watches before becoming a key supplier of military watches, including issue pieces for U.S. forces in both World Wars. Production moved to Switzerland in the 1960s–70s and the brand joined the Swatch Group in 1974, where it is now known for its aviation- and military-inspired Khaki lines and frequent appearances in film.
