Japan
Grand Seiko was created in 1960 by Suwa Seikosha, part of the Seiko group, to build the most accurate and best-finished watches Japan could produce. It operated as a Seiko sub-brand for decades before becoming a fully independent brand in 2017 — dropping "Seiko" from the dial — and is especially known for its Spring Drive movement and "Zaratsu" mirror-polished case finishing.
